Black Bombers exhibit power and skill in a media work out.

The Ghana national Amateur team powered by the Ghana Boxing Federation Saturday February 15 had their final training and a media work out at their training camp, the Bukom Boxing Arena. It was all fun and hard work as the Black Bombers completes one section of training after the other.

The Bombers started with a national pledge and then the national anthem which ostensibly injected some energy in them amidst blastering of whistle by the head coach Ofori Asare. They had shadow boxing, aggressive defence and attack techniques and speed with power punches on the punching bags. In deed the spirit in the camp of the Bombers is absolutely phenomenal with anger for success in their eyes.

“The boys are ready and angry to qualify Ghana to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.” Coach Ofori Asare said. The spirit of the team was boosted when the news came in that Shakur, Sulemana and Omar have been seeded” he added when he was asked about the level of preparedness of the team.
The President of the Federation Mr. George Lamptey who have been busy all day was highly optimistic that the Bombers will be making Ghana proud again despite the difficulties they have had in putting resources together to get the Bombers ready for Dakar.

“It has not been easy putting this team together, it has been hard work chasing authorities, Corporation Ghana and other bodies to support the team”. Mr Lamptey said. “I’m hopeful that this team will come from Dakar with high number of representation to the Tokyo 2020” Mr. Lamptey, beaming with smiles expressed.

The team will depart for Dakar on Monday February 17 and expected to join other nationations like Uganda, Kenya, Namibia, Morocco etc who have arrived to acclimatise with the weather conditions. The competition will start from February 20 and end on February 29.
