Black Bombers Captain Sulemanu Tetteh predicts gold medal win for team Ghana

Medals designed for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham have been released and some Black Bombers have started making predictions.

In a post shared by Sammy Heywood Okine from the Commonwealth Federation page, revealing the medals to be won at the July 28 to August 8 events.

Sulemanu Tetteh who was in Ghana’s squad to the Tokyo Olympics made this comment

“Insha allah I will win 🥇 gold if I get the opportunity to go”

Tetteh is part of the 20 member Black Bombers currently participating in a non residential training camp. The team was cut down from 30 to 20 members. The final team to represent Ghana will be nine boxers (8 men and 1 female).

Coach Ofori Asare, Head Coach of the team has revealed that the final 9 will be selected based on performance during training camp.

Coach Ofori Asare who led the team recently to win bronze both in 2014 and 2018 noted that “So many factors such as performances in training, sparring sessions and experience will play a key role in the decision making for the Games.”

The nine boxers will be required to make Ghana proud by winning more medals in variety of Gold and Silver.
