The Sports Writers Association of Ghana’s best Referee Roger Barnor has been awarded by the International Governing and sanctioning body the British and Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA) as the best ring official for the calendar year 2018.

The experienced and Top Ghanaian boxing Referee and Judge, was awarded earlier today by the astute body but must later go for the ceremony in the United Kingdom.

Roger Barnor, holds all the top world boxing bodies badges and has acquainted himself in some of the best boxing matchups including that of Isaac Dogboe, Emmanuel Tagoe, Duke Micah and many others.

The award is in recognition of his exceptional works in the art of pugilism.

It comes as no surprise when the newly christened Governing and Sanctioning body of that high repute which primarily operates within the United Kingdom and Ireland extended it’s award to the Bukom born Referee Judge.

BIBA became the first European professional boxing Governing and sanctioning body to have become hundred percent compliant with the American Federal act 15, on boxing safety also known as the Mohammed Ali boxing reform act and has affiliation with many World Boxing Championship organisations.

Roger Nii Bonney Barnor whose career path was inspired by the legendary Ataa Eddie Pappoe becomes the first Ghanaian referee to have achieved this remarkable feat.

On the night, Solomon Otoo of Ghana was equally awarded as the International Matchmaker of the year 2018.

BoxingGhana.com will keep you posted on this developing story as we say congratulations to a wonderful personality in Referee Roger Nii Bonney Barnor and Solomon Otoo.
