Osibor Boxing Promotions who are establishing themselves as one of the best in the country wish to spread the gospel of boxing with the Garden City as their next stop as son of the soil, Stanley Nyantekyi who recently won the LBO Intercontinental title faces experienced Emmanuel Quartey aka Akufo Addo  for the National Featerweight strap.

According to CEO of Osibor Promotions, Mr. Gordon Frimpong the bout is to bring the sport to the people of Ashanti, after Holy Dogbetor from the Volta Region relinquished the title.

Frimpong who is an Ashanti and keen boxing enthusiast said he wants to clear the notion that boxing is for only Gas, and that Ashantis are afraid to box.

He noted that Stanley Nyantekyi has proved that there are many youth in the Ashanti Kingdom who can do sports, especially boxing and take it to the world level.

“We are bringing boxing to the Ashanti Region, precisely Miklin Hotel on April 1 and we want to see everyone who loves boxing and entertainment there” he announced.

Mr. Gordon Frimpong said with the support of Bronx Promotions they want to wake up all boxing lovers in Ashanti Region and alert them to start preparing because more boxing bouts and championships would be coming their way.

He appealed to businesses in the region to invest in boxing so that the region gets more champions.

Veteran Emmanuel Quartey, 34 is 25-11-1, while 23 year old Nyantekyi has lost once in nine outings.
