The much talked fight between Interim WBO Super Bantamweight Champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogbe and WBO Super Bantamweight champion Jessie Magdaleno comes off this Saturday 28-4-2018 at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia.

The fight which is the main bout of the night will be aired live on ESPN. This fight really promises an exciting encounter following from the social media exchanges that has greeted this fight from both teams.

Tale of the Tape

Magdaleno:

Magdaleno a southpaw, comes into this fight with a phenomenal record of 101 rounds of boxing, 25 wins, no draw, no loss and 18 by way of KO. He has the height advantage of 5.4″ and a reach of 66.

Magdaleno is quick, ubiquitous and has good recovery rate. He hits, hops with jabs and occasionally goes for the pound for pound exchanges.

Magdaleno has rickety defence and lacks aggression. He has come from Unanimous win over Nonito Donaire to claim the title and succefully defended with a crushing round 2 KO of Adeilson Dos Santos.

Isaac Dogbe:

Isaac Dogbe faces Magdaleno with a stunning record of 98 rounds of boxing 18 wins, 12 KOs, no draw, no loss. Has a heigh of 5.2″ and reach of 66″.

Dogbe has good jabs and thundering combinations of right and very potent left hooks. Has good recovery rate and excellent defends but occasionally drops it.

Dogbe set up this mandatory encounter with magdaleno after he had handed a 5 round KO to Cesar Juarez to win the Interim WBO World Super Bantamweight title in.

Prior to this he won the vacant WBO international Super Bantamweight in 2016 in a round 7 KO against Julian Evaristo Aristule and retained it against Javier Chacon.

Dogbe must go after Magdaleno immediately the bell goes to trap him to fight either at the corners of the ring or centre to unleash the doses of the thundering combination of punches.

Dogbe must prevent him from his hop jabs with a counter punch or with a step back and a power upper cut.

Use straight right more and do not drop guards since Magdaleno throws wild punches occasionally. Dogbe must avoid the killer punches to extricate him from wearying as the may go the full 12 round.

It is a difficult card to call but I wish Dogbe the best in this encounter. I believe that it is the corner of the boxers that will win the fight in this exchange.

Team Dogbe has what it takes to win this fight.
