Amir Khan thinks ‘it’ll be easy work for Crawford’ to beat Errol Spence Jr.

The debate as to who is going to reign  supreme in the welterweight continues unabated as former unified light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan tips Terrance Crawford to make a quick work of Errol Spence should the fight ever happens.

When quizzed on his take between “Spence or Crawford in an interview?, the British pugilist picked Crawford over Spence.

“Okay, so I’m going to go with my boy, Crawford.” The one time Commonwealth champion stated.

“I feel that Crawford has the upper hand in that fight. I think it’ll go the distance, but I think It’ll be easy work for Crawford because he’ll just box him [Spence]. I see Spence coming at him, running at him, and putting pressure on.

“One thing about Crawford is he’s a good back foot fighter as well.” Khan said.

The recent debate and possible match up to determine the king of the welterweight is still fresh on people’s minds, and opinions are sharply devided between these two undefeated fighters.

Errol Spence Junior (28-0, 22 KOs) secured an empathic win against another crack fighter in former WBA 147-lb champion Yordenis Ugas last April, a boxer who totally annihilated a former eight (8)division world champion in Manny Pacquiao.

Many are of the opinions that Kahn picked Terrance Crawford (38-0, 29  KOs) because of their friendship and the rapport between them as echoed by Khan himself when he stated that;

“Me and Crawford did a couple of rounds in a fight and sparred together.
One thing about Crawford is what a genuinely nice guy he is. When I was camp in the mountains when I left Omaha, Nebraska to Colorado Springs, just to be part of the team, just to help me and go for runs and stuff.

“He was so much big help, and then he came to the UK with me. Yeah, it was so good to have him there.” expressed Khan.

But many argue that Spence has fought credible fighters than his nemesis Crawford and negotiations are still sitting in the pipeline with fans becoming increasingly impatient.

One thing is for sure, two things for certain, the unification battle between Spence and Crawford must happen this year 2022 or risk losing it’s appeal to fans.
