All is ready for the WBC featherweight championship fight between Gary Russell and Tugstsogt Nyambayar sheduled for Saturday at the PPL Center Allentown Pennsylvania on SHOWTIME promoted by TGB. All boxers complied with the safety weight check regulations as required by the WBC whose title will be at the centre of the caboodle.

Saturday’s main event will be the first ring appearance for Russell since a 5th round crushing of Kiko Martinez last May at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York on the under card of Wilder-Fury l. The 31-year old southpaw and 2008 U.S. Olympian will making the fifth defense of his title after a one-sided round four stoppage of Jhonny Gonzalez in March 2015. Russell comes second only to Deontay Wilder as the longest as the longest reigning active titlist in boxing.

Russell and Tugstsogt came face-face at the final presser at the PPL Center in Allentown with ecstasy and hunger in the eyes of both boxers promising all action for Saturday’s fight.

Russell 31, (30-1, 18KOs) was very upbeat about his chances of winning this fight and retaining his belt owing to a good training regime.

“We had a great training camp. I have my younger brothers on the card with me and in camp, pushing me every day. We’re ready, focused and hungry” Russell said at the final presser giving some credit to Tugstsogt and expecting a tough opposition from him.
“Tug will be the best he possibly can be because he knows he’s facing one of the best fighters in the world. He has everything to gain and nothing to lose. He’s going to leave it all on the line.
“I think Tug is a lot more technically sound than a lot of the guys who I have competed against. He’s another guy with everything to gain and nothing to lose, so I’m anticipating a tough fight.

Tugstsogt 28, (11-0, 9KOs) a Mongolia but domiciled in Los Angeles California and currently the IBO featherweight title. Many has called this fight to be a straight win prediction for Russell for the fact that Tugstsogt will suffer ring rust having fought only once in 2019. But he quickly refuted that at the Thursday final presser admitting being the underdog in this fight.

“I know that I’m the underdog, but that doesn’t affect me. I don’t care if I’m the favorite or the underdog. Tugstsogt said.
“I’m not worried about any ring rust. I’ve worked so hard in the ring during training camp to make sure I’m the best I’ve ever been. He added.

Amidst all the bad media he has suffered and not being the favourite for this fight, he cocksure his preparation will make history for him
“I’m very ready for this fight. I want to be the first WBC featherweight champion in history from Mongolia. I’m ready, you just need to watch on Saturday.” Tugstsogt expressed.
