Richard Commey, is set to make his first title defense against Raymundo Beltran at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, on June 28. Preparations are at its peak in order to up his regime towards the titanic duel to gain “respect” that the Ghanaian power puncher undoubtedly deserves from boxingdom.

Team Commey, led by the Chief Executive Officer of Streetwise Management, Michael Amoo-Bediako decided to brief the very news thirsty Ghana media on the very latest in camping ahead of the hugely anticipated campaign on June 28.

“Preparation is going really well for Richard Commey’s upcoming world title defense. Richard is pictured here with his coach Andre Rozier (second left) after sparring in Brooklyn yesterday, and would like to let all Ghanaians know that he is training extremely hard to make sure he is victorious against former world champion Ray Beltran, and by doing so raising the flag of Ghana once again and making everybody proud.” Updated the popularly known as Mickey-Moo.

Ghana’s IBF lightweight titlist, is arguably the most feared boxer in his lightweight division with his power and wicked reach advantages, not even the likes of pay per view star Lomachenko could be compared to the Jamestown native born and bred in a small community that emerged around the 17th-century, located directly east of the Korle Lagoon, a former British colonial town and is one of the oldest districts in the city of Accra.

Edgar Raymundo Beltran (36-8-1,22 KOs) otherwise known as “Sugar”, is in for his biggest career test in his 46 career bouts so far in a 268 rounds of professional pugilism action. He recently won the World Boxing Council Continental Americas Super Lightweight Title against 29 year Japanese national Hiroki Okada (19-1, 13 KOs) a week after Commey KOed Chaniev in round 2.

The Mexican Beltran is the kind of boxer that the power players uses as a barometer to measure a feared boxer, hence that explains why Commey picked him to send a powerful statement to the critical and sometimes blatantly African biased boxingdom.

Richard Oblitey Commey (28-2,25 KOs) is one fine brewed boxer who has added a master brewer in Andre Rozier, and astute commercial, marketing, administrative and experienced managers in Keith Connolly and Michael Amoo-Bediako.

What is undeniably a fact is that, Richard Commey will command massive eyeballs than he is currently enjoying should he defeat Raymundo Beltran come fight night. The fight will headline a Top Rank bill on ESPN card on 28 June.
