The African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) has reaffirmed its commitment to peace, unity, and stability within African boxing while upholding the principles of good governance and transparency. In response to ongoing governance violations and illegal activities led by General Luyoyo and his associates, AFBC initiated negotiations in an effort to restore order and unity.

Despite multiple attempts to reach an agreement, the illegal faction repeatedly disrupted progress, undermining the negotiation process with last-minute demands that contradicted previous agreements. As a result, the AFBC Board of Directors has unanimously decided to terminate negotiations and implement a five-action plan to protect the integrity of African boxing.

Key decisions include:

1. Ending negotiations and formally requesting IBA’s Boxing Independent Integrity Unit (BIIU) to take disciplinary action against General Luyoyo and his associates.

2. Pursuing legal action to hold all responsible parties accountable for their unlawful activities.

3. Addressing any interference in the domestic affairs of national federations.

4. Taking decisive action against officials promoting division, discrimination, and instability within AFBC.

5. Ensuring AFBC continues its mission of developing boxing across the continent.

IBA has previously condemned the illegal actions of General Luyoyo’s group in official statements issued on November 2, 2024, and December 5, 2024, reinforcing the need for governance compliance.

AFBC remains steadfast in protecting its brand, ensuring unity among national federations, and enforcing the AFBC Constitution. The Confederation calls on IBA and the global boxing community to stand in solidarity against governance violations and safeguard the future of African boxing.

La Confédération Africaine de Boxe (AFBC) réaffirme son engagement en faveur de la paix, de l’unité et de la stabilité dans la boxe africaine, tout en respectant les principes de bonne gouvernance et de transparence. Face aux violations persistantes de la gouvernance et aux activités illégales menées par le Général Luyoyo et ses associés, l’AFBC a engagé des négociations dans le but de rétablir l’ordre et l’unité.

Malgré de multiples tentatives d’accord, la faction illégale a continuellement perturbé les discussions en introduisant des demandes de dernière minute contredisant les accords précédents. Par conséquent, le Conseil d’Administration de l’AFBC a décidé à l’unanimité de mettre fin aux négociations et de mettre en œuvre un plan d’action en cinq points pour protéger l’intégrité de la boxe africaine.

Les principales décisions incluent :
Mettre fin aux négociations et demander officiellement à l’Unité Indépendante d’Intégrité de la Boxe (BIIU) de l’IBA de prendre des mesures disciplinaires contre le Général Luyoyo et ses associés.
Engager des poursuites judiciaires contre toutes les parties responsables de ces activités illégales.
Faire face à toute ingérence dans les affaires internes des fédérations nationales.
Prendre des mesures décisives contre les responsables favorisant la division, la discrimination et l’instabilité au sein de l’AFBC.
Garantir que l’AFBC continue sa mission de développement de la boxe sur tout le continent.
L’IBA a déjà condamné les actions illégales du groupe du Général Luyoyo dans ses déclarations officielles du 2 novembre 2024 et du 5 décembre 2024, soulignant la nécessité de respecter la gouvernance.

L’AFBC reste déterminée à protéger sa marque, garantir l’unité des fédérations nationales et faire respecter la Constitution de l’AFBC. La Confédération appelle l’IBA et la communauté mondiale de la boxe à se tenir unis contre les violations de la gouvernance et à protéger l’avenir de la boxe africaine.
