The Deputy Managing Director of Agricultural Development Bank, Mr. Alhassan Yakubu-Tali, has expressed the bank’s commitment to continue their partnership with the Ghana Boxing Authority, Ghana Boxing Federation and the Ghana Juvenile Boxing Board towards the, soon to go, nationwide boxing league “Bukom Fist OF Fury”
“ADB is proud to partner the Ghana Boxing Authority, Ghana Amateur Federation and the Ghana Juvenile Boxing Board for the bold step to organize the National Juvenile and Amateur Boxing League and Professional Championship fights dubbed “Bukom Fist of Fury.” He said.
“The event which seeks to provide a regular subsidized competition platform for all categories of Boxers within the boxing profession will help Ghana produce once again the great boxers like ‘Professor’ Azumah Nelson, David Kotei aka D.K Poison, Ike Quartey, Joshua Clottey, Alfred Clottey, Nana Yaw Konadu, Eddy Blay, Sulley Shitu; Joseph Agbeko and many others whose exploits always made us proud.”
Mr Tali further reiterated ADB’s main objective for extending such an appreciable package in a form of sponsorship to the organizers
“We are optimistic that this league will help unearth new talents… because of the huge potential it possesses to create jobs for the youth.”
He further commended the organizers for extending the competition beyond the boxing capital, Accra, and it’s environs to the entire country.
The consultant of this novelty campaign, Lawyer Moses Foh Amoaning, on his part re-echoed the nationwide coverage.
“We are looking forward to taking the league to the various regions this year when it kick-starts on December 31 in order to give boxers in the regions equal opportunities.
“This year, we are looking at taking the event to regions such as Western, Central, Ashanti, Volta and Northern in a way to help produce talents in every part of the country.” Mr Foh Amoaning expressed.
The second edition of the national boxing league kick-starts with some intriguing match-ups, which sees WBO Global Champ Wasiru Mohammed co-headlining with undefeated Jesse Manyo Plange come Friday the 31st of January 2020 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra Ghana.
