Frederick Lawson loses to Charles Hatley via round 10 tko

Ghana’s Frederick Lawson lost to American Charles Hatley via a last round technical knockout (TKO) in their scheduled 10 rounder but gave a very good account of himself for a boxer who has not fought for two (2) years.

His manager Jacob Zwennes was equally impressed with his charges showing on the night. The self styled ‘General Okunka’ was leading on all the cards before a sloppy momentarily lost of concentration made him succumb to a last minute TKO.

“Fredrick lost by a last round (10 round) TKO with 24 seconds to go. He seemingly was leading on the cards going into the last round. A momentarily lapse in concentration took the win from him.” Jacob Zwennes told our managing Chief Editor Samuel Ofosuhene.

Most connoisseurs predicted a quick work most especially because the Ghanaian has not been in action for a while and many were expecting him to shake off his ring rust with a ‘tune-up’ fight instead.

But there are a lot of positives to be taken from this fight especially because the Ghanaian undoubtedly outboxed his American nemesis with his superior boxing ability.

The vacant World Boxing Council United States (USNBC) Welterweight title may have eluded the 32 year old native of Jamestown but Frederick Lawson undeniably gave a very good account of himself at the Anatole Hotel, Dallas, Texas, USA.
