A total of 31 National Federations of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) voted to remain members of the International Boxing Association (IBA) during the Extraordinary Congress held at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday October 14.
The Board of Directors meeting also took place at the same venue.
Out of the total 43 affiliates of ASBC, 35 NFs attended the Congress chaired by the ASBC President Pichai Chunhavajira.
The 31 NFs voted to remain in IBA until World Boxing – the new rogue body formed to rival IBA – is recognised by IOC which has said with only 16 affiliates so far, World Boxing is still an infant and must start walking on its own to earn the nod of IOC.
