▫️ 12 African heavyweight boxers enter the ring on the sixth day of Olympic qualifiers in Bangkok

It’s the turn of the African super-heavyweights to taste the pain of a punch as the final Paris Olympic Games qualifiers enter the six day in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday, May 29.

DR Congo’s US-based Gilbert Kabamba will make his international debut against Columbia’s Willys Mendoza, Africa silver medallist and Seychelles’ two-time Sportsman of the Year Keddy Agnes (pictured) fights Iran’s Rouzbeh Safari, Nigeria’s African Games champion and Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Ifeanyi Onyekwere battles Ukraine’s Dmytro Lovchynskyi and Mauritius’ two-time African Games champion and Rio Olympics quarter-finalist Joseph Kennedy St-Pierre returns to action after being out for one year to take on Croatia’s Luka Pratjacic.

In all, 12 African boxers are in action today in the round of 32. The rest of the schedule:
